Adoption of the SGA model in Chile
In Chile there is a National Chemical Safety Policy, which integrates a 2017-2022 action plan that includes the adoption of the global harmonized system of classification and labelling of chemical substances.
Supreme Decree No. 43 of 07/27/2015, from the Ministry of Health approves the Regulation of Storage of Hazardous Substances. This decree, in title II establishes that “Safety data sheets for stored substances must be available outside the storage facility (Article 14) and in the main entrance or port of the company (Article 15) (hds), according to Nch 2245: 2015.
CHILEAN OFFICIAL STANDARD No. 2245: 2015 regulates Safety Data Sheets and their format and that their contents are in accordance with the provisions of the GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemical Products promoted by the United Nations).
