REGULATION
THE PRESENCE OF BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS TODAY IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET IS VERY COMMON (ITS PURPOSE IS TO DESTROY, CONTRARY OR NEUTRALIZE ANY HARMFUL ORGANISM OR TO PREVENT ITS ACTION OR TO EXERCISE ANOTHER CONTROL EFFECT ON IT). DUE TO TIS GREAT CONFLUENCE THESE PRODUCTS HAVE ITS OWN REGULATION.
The Regulation that regulates biocides is Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012, specifically regulates the marketing and use of biocides for the protection of people and the environment, by the action of products that act against harmful organisms, as pests or bacteria by the action of the active substances contained in the biocides. Its purpose is the commercialization of biocidal products and treated articles, their authorization, mutual recognition and the preparation of a list of active substances for the usage in biocides.
This Regulation was approved on May 22, 2012 and entered into force on September 1, 2013, repealing Directive 98/8 / EC. Since then, modifications and developments of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 have been published.
In general, the Regulation establishes that all biocides require an authorization to be commercialized and the active substances that contain those biocides must be approved in advance.
As long as the active substances are in the review program awaiting approval, they can continue to be used. As biocides can also be marketed with provisional authorizations for new active substances still subject to evaluation.
SINCE EQGEST WE HAVE WANTED TO FACILITATE THE WORK OF THE MANUFACTURERS / SUPPLIERS OF BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS AND TREATED ARTICLES. THEREFORE, WE HAVE DEVELOPED A TOOL THAT FACILITATES THE INCORPORATION OF THE INFORMATION REQUIRED IN THE LABELING OF BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS (ARTICLE 69 OF THE REGULATIONS) AND ARTICLES TREATED (ARTICLE 58).
What does our specialized module include?
All the information contained in point 2 of Article 69 of the Biocidal Products Regulation (type of formulation, instructions for the safe disposal of the biocidal product and its packaging, microorganisms (in accordance with Directive 2000/54 / EC), etc.) Labeling a product is included in this module.
Each field includes a brief explanation of how to fill in the required information, and in which case it is not necessary to include it. In this way you can make your label so that the information is stored in the program and every time you need to recover it, modify it or eliminate it and then dump it on a label, you can do it without forgetting any field of the label.
eQgest contains the list of active substances published on the ECHA website (European Agency for Chemical Substances) and for each substance the type of product (TP) is identified, for example, Product type 1: Human hygiene, for which It is approved.
Regarding microorganisms (section of the label) eQgest incorporates the list of microorganisms included in Directive 2000/54 / EC in the languages of the European Union so that you only have to select it from the available list and automatically the information appears in the label.
In addition to biocidal products, Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 includes products treated with biocides (called treated articles). eQgest has included a section to include the information required for the labeling of treated articles (according to Article 58 of the Biocides Regulation).
The program also collects the regulatory information for biocides in section 2.2 in the SDS for the biocidal product. (where the active substances are shown) and section 15, where the regulatory information is shown.
The main functionality is that the user can correctly and quickly perform the required label according to biocides regulations and that the information is recorded with the purpose of general accessibility to it and the possibility of modifying the information to then print updated labels for each biocidal product.
