Europa. Europe. REACH and CLP regulations – (EC) No. 1907/2006 and 1272/2008)
REACH (Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006): European regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances and mixtures.
The main objective of REACH is to regulate the use of dangerous substances in the supply chain within the EU. Regarding communication of risks, Annex II lists the format and content that Safety Data Sheets should have. This annex was subsequently modified by Regulations (EU) No. 453/2010 and (EU) 830/2015.
REACH (Reglamento (CE) nº 1907/2006): CLP (Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008): European regulation on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
The CLP translates the criteria for classification and labelling of chemical products established by the SGA to European regulations. This regulation establishes the conditions that must be met for one of the main risk communication tools for these products, such as labelling.
