Notification no. 2016-19. GHS Adaptation in South Korea
This notification replaces the previous standards and is aligned with the 4th revision of the GHS, adding the hazard class for substances and mixtures hazardous to the ozone layer and adapting the hazard and precautionary statements and their codes with those of the GHS. The criteria for the classification of mixtures is also established, as well as the content of safety data sheets and labels.

Regarding the safety data sheets, the distribution in 16 sections is adopted, but with some aspects to be noted:

The document must be issued in Korean, except for the names of substances and institutions, which may appear in English.

For confidentiality purposes the identity of certain substances may be omitted.

The concentration ranges of the substances in section 3 must have the width established in the standard, which varies depending on the exact concentration of the substance and its hazard classification.
